In the late 1990s, while working for the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Commerce in Antigua, I was determined to further my education and complete a master's degree. No trust fund or giant inheritance from my parents or family would fulfill my ambitions–because none existed. I was mostly on my own, and a proper education was my decided key to the door of the world.
